Little Huson Caves is one of a number of Karst features on Vancouver Island,
where the softer rock (limestone) has been dissolved by the slightly acidic water
leaving behind caves and channels.
The Malaspina Galleries
look similar, but in that case
sandstone has been eroded by the action of the waves.
There is also a karst cave on Texada Island where we have spelunked.
The Horn Lake Caves are the most accessable of any of these
in that they do not require a long trip on logging roads.
